Sophie Kinsella, the pen name of Madeleine Sophie Wickham, the bestselling author who charmed millions with her wit and warmth, passed away on December 10, 2025, at the age of 55. Born in London, Kinsella conquered the literary world with her 'Shopaholic' series, introducing readers to the lovable, chaotic Becky Bloomwood.

Her novels, including 'The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic' (later adapted into the film 'Confessions of a Shopaholic'), were celebrated for their humor, relatable heroines, and sharp observations of modern life. She sold over 45 million books worldwide, translated into more than 40 languages. Kinsella also wrote several standalone novels that further showcased her gift for romantic comedy with heart.
