Greetings from India , my name is Sheba Sunayana (missionary ).Shirley and I first met in 2007 in Obi Church. We had many talks with each other where she recollected her childhood memories time spent in Bombay India. I believe God brings people in our lives for His glory. I was very new to USA but when I met her I felt so happy and comfortable. She encouraged Bill to connect me to new people and raise support for our orphanage. She was not only a faithful believer of Christ but she is mission minded person. In 2024 I could introduce my son David to her. She was very happy to see him. We are very sad that we don’t see her on earth again. But we see her in heaven.
Shirley C Dibble
Shirley C Dibble 3260 N. 7th St, Allegany, NY formerly of Portville, New York died peacefully on January 5, 2026 at Olean General Hospital following a brief illness.
Born Shirley Constance Margert Scrimgeour in Bombay India on January 21, 1936. to Kay and Leslie Scrimgeour, Shirley was the only girl, having twin brothers.
Shirley grew up in Bombay leading a full and happy life, marrying and later moving to London, England and immigrating to Australia in early 1960's with her husband and two children. The family made their home in Australia in North Queensland where they set up a restaurant and commenced raising their children.
Later in life, Shirley visited The United States, became a permanent legal resident and remained until her death.
Shirley was a “Red-Hatter” and a faithful member of Obi Community Church.
Shirley is survived by a son Ashley “Ash” Easdon-Smith of West Clarksville, New York and a daughter Jay Costello of New South Wales, Australia.
Shirley's life was a testament to her faith in God and belief in others. She never spoke a harsh word of anyone. Her thoughtfulness towards others in her life and appreciation of goodness, friendship and love of God sustained her in difficult times.
Words are never enough to express the loss felt by her children Ashley and Jay, or those close friends who genuinely cherished her kind soul and sense of humor and cared for her in times of need and through to the end.
Shirley’s generosity continued after her death in her donation of her body to The University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine Anatomical Gift Program.
Shirley will be greatly missed on this earth and by those of us who were blessed to have shared a part of her life and love.
Rest in peace for you will always be loved and remembered. The planet will not be the same without you.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Obi Community Church on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
