Rodger started as Scout for the Montreal Expos
Career
In 1969, Rodger Brulotte joined the newly formed Montreal Expos as a scout, marking the beginning of a lifelong association with Major League Baseball's first Canadian franchise. Working under the guidance of scouting director Mel Didier, he traveled extensively to identify the talent that would form the backbone of the team's early roster. His transition from the field to the front office saw him rise to the position of assistant director of player recruitment, where he contributed to the signing of future Hall of Famer Gary Carter. This foundational period established Brulotte as a key figure in the Expos' organizational structure during their formative years at Jarry Park.
