Robin Rene Black, aged 65 passed away June 3, 2026 in Orland Park, Illinois from cancer. She was born November 30, 1960 in Valparaiso, Indiana to Catherine Danielson and Lee Russi.

She grew up in Griffith, Indiana with her mother, Catherine, her step-father, Richard Black, and her brothers Curtis and Randall. She attended college at Indiana University before graduating from Wheaten College in Illinois in 1982. Through her life she worked in banking, media, and retail. In recent years she was a regular contributor to PanoramaNOW a print and on-line magazine out of Valparaiso.

She is survived by her brothers, Randall E. Black (wife Lisa) and Curtis R. Black; nephew Nicholas Black and niece Eleanor Black.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Crown Point First United Methodist Church (352 S Main St) on July 11, 2-4PM. An RSVP can be completed on the event's page and is appreciated for ordering refreshments.

A private burial service will be held at a later date.

In leu of flowers donations may be made to the Gabis Arboretum or to the Hobart Humane Society.
