Robert Charles Mowry
April 7, 1948 – May 23, 2026
Robert Charles Mowry, 78, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on May 23, 2026.
Born on April 7, 1948, in Butler, Pennsylvania, to Wilbert and Louise Mowry, Robert lived a life devoted to his faith, his family, and sharing the love of Christ with others. A strong Christian, he dedicated his life to serving the Lord as an ordained minister and through his work in ministry, including with the Christian Broadcasting Network. His unwavering faith was the foundation of everything he did, and he touched countless lives through his compassion, wisdom, and testimony.
Throughout much of his career, Robert worked in sales, where his gift for building relationships and connecting with people served him well. Beyond his professional life, he was a published author who found great joy in writing. Inspired by his deep love for New Mexico and the American Southwest, he authored several works of Southwestern fiction, including Fugitive Father, Last Regulator at Roswell, Last Wolf at Eagle Well, Smoking Springs, Adobe Gold, and Tuscan Knights. His stories reflected his appreciation for the region’s rich history, rugged landscapes, and enduring spirit. He cherished the beauty of the Southwest, especially New Mexico, a place that always held a special place in his heart. He loved spending time camping, enjoyed recreational shooting, and found peace in God’s creation.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Mowry; his parents, Wilbert and Louise Mowry; and his brother, Barry Mowry.
He is survived by his daughters, Kristina Callen and Jennifer Yaeger; his stepdaughter, Brenda Rivera; his stepsons, Tim Gall and Aaron Gall; his brothers, Bert Mowry and Carl Mowry; his granddaughter, Ashley Berlint; and his great-grandson, Josiah Berlint, along dear friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ who will deeply miss him.
Robert’s legacy is one of steadfast faith, service, kindness, and love. He faithfully lived out the words of 2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” His life was a testament to God’s grace, and while he will be greatly missed, his family rejoices in the promise that he is now at home with the Lord.
His memory will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.
