Richard Trotter
A life well lived
Richard Bruce Trotter, lovingly known as Rick, was born on March 13, 1937, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and passed away on March 24, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 89. He was the beloved son of Bruce and Mignon Trotter.
Rick’s passions were as big as his heart. He was a lifelong, New Orleans Saints fan. He attended the very first Saints game and stayed loyal through every high and low—never wearing the bag.
Rick embraced the culture, music, and camaraderie of his hometown, proudly walking for many years with New Orleans’ own Pete Fountain in the legendary Half Fast Walking Club—an experience he cherished deeply.
Las Vegas became Rick’s home for more than five decades. He was known for his strong work ethic, quick wit, and genuine ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Rick built a long and respected career spanning both the power and gambling industries. He took great pride in his Catholic faith and never missed an opportunity to send a thoughtful card, newspaper clippings, or a handwritten letter.
Rick will be remembered for his enduring love of life, unwavering loyalty, and sharing his many stories along the way. His spirit lives on in all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children: Darlene Rigdon, Asia McGill, and Joseph Trotter; his grandchildren Yevette and Matthew Rigdon, Brittney and Taylor McGill, Davin and Josslyn Trotter; and his great grandchildren Serena and Peter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cathy Finch Trotter; his son, Richard Lamana; and his beloved companion, Renee.
