My favorite memory of Uncle Richie was actually the second time I met him. The second time I met him was actually a total surprise because the first time I met him my mother and I sort of ditched him and my Aunt Karen and left him "with the tab." So the fact that he came back around was pretty surprising. What stood out to me was that he came with a bouquet of flowers for us girls as my grandfather had just passed away. He was a complete gentleman and had compassion and empathy for our loss and never brought up our first meeting. He ended up becoming good friends with my mother and "Uncle Richie" to me. He ended up being someone I could always talk to when it seemed like the rest of the family was going crazy. I spoke to him a little over a year ago on the phone after not seeing him for many years since I'd moved to Arkansas but he still had that voice I remember comforting me so many times before. Uncle Richie you will be missed.
