In Loving Memory of Richard Dean Halsey (Dick) 89 Passed away on June 1, 2026 in Butte, Montana. Dick was born in Grayson Virginia on February 6, 1937 to Wendel (Doc) and Geneva Halsey. Dick had 3 other siblings Don, Shirley, and Janie. Dick married Kay Gunderson and he helped raise her 4 kids like they were his own Jeff, Dale, Becky, and Bridget. Dick joined the Navy (Ceabes) in 1962 in Long Beach California. After the Military Dick and Kay moved to York Pennsylvania for a while then they moved to Anchorage Alaska where he worked as a Ice Trucker and on the Slopes for many years until he retired. Dick and Kay Divorced in 2002 and then he moved to Salmon, Idaho where he married the love of his life Ethel Halsey on Aug 22, 2004 Dick took in Ethels 5 kids and always treated them like they were his own. Lucky, Misti, Marinda (Shawn), Barbara (Jeff), and Meriah (Jason). Dick had a lot of Grandkids that he loved very much and loved to spoil them as much as he possibly could. Seth, Makayla, Emily, Samuel, Natalie, Nathan, Leona, Dallin, Cody, Taylor, Brandon, Colton, Amanda (Palmer), Brittany (Matt), Sheldon, Timothy, Shianne (Brian), Shalissa (Donavon), Kalie (Dallin), and Ashdon. Dick is Preceded in Death by his parents, Wendel (Doc), Geneva, Wife Ethel his brother Don, sister Shirley, daughters Becky, Misti, son Dale, and his grandson Cody. Dick is Survived by his sister Janie kids Jeff, Bridget, Lucky, Marinda (Shawn), Barbara (Jeff), Meriah (Jason). Grandkids Seth, Makayla, Emily, Samual, Natalie, Nathan, Leona, Dallin, Taylor, Amanda (palmer), Brittany (Matt), Sheldon, Timothy, Shianne (Brian), Shalissa (Donovan), Kalie (Dallin), and Ashdon. Dick was Cremated by Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home in Butte Montana. Dick will be greatly missed by everyone who had a chance to meet him.
