Randall "Randy" L Gwartney
It is with a heavy heart and a lifetime of memories that I share the passing of my dear friend, Randall “Randy” Lee Gwartney, who gained his wings on February 10, 2026, in Mesquite, Texas. Randy was born in Huntsville, Texas, on October 23, 1962, and from the very beginning, he carried with him a light and energy that touched everyone he met.
Randy was preceded in death by his loving parents, Roger and Mary Faye, and is survived by his sister Mariann Quick, half‑sister Krista Bomhoff, niece Brittany Waldron, and great‑nephew Kennedy Waldron. He also leaves behind more friendships formed over the last 60 plus years than any single page could hold, because to know Randy was to truly love him. I was blessed to be his friend for nearly three decades, and even that never felt long enough.
Those who knew Randy will remember his incredible ability to make a friend out of anyone he crossed paths with. It didn’t matter who you were, Randy had a way of drawing you in, making you laugh, and making you feel seen. His friendships were deep, loyal, and long‑lasting.
Randy spent many years working in retail merchandising, and he was a true professional—quick, capable, and committed. But it was his heart, not his job title, that defined him. Randy had a smile that could brighten even the hardest days and an energy that made everything feel lighter. His kindness came naturally; his humor was effortless; his presence was a gift.
Honoring Randy’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. For those who wish to honor his memory, donations may be made to Homeward Bound, Inc. at:

Randy may no longer be with us physically, but he will live on—in our stories, in our laughter, and in the countless moments we were lucky enough to share with him. His memory will forever be a part of all of us who loved him.
Rest easy, my friend. You will “ALWAYS” live on in our hearts and memories. 💙
