Bartender and reality TV cast member
Ken Urker was known publicly as the partner of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, the father of her only child, and a cast member alongside her on Lifetime's 'Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up.' He died on October 1, 2026, at his home in Raceland, Louisiana. He was 34, the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office said, confirming deputies found him dead after a call placed shortly after 6 p.m. that evening, according to NBC News.
Urker first wrote to Blanchard in 2017, after watching the HBO documentary 'Mommy Dead and Dearest' about her conviction in the death of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, while she was incarcerated in Missouri. Letters led to prison visits, and in 2018 he proposed. The engagement did not last, and Blanchard later married and separated from another man before she and Urker reconciled in April 2024, according to Newsweek.
Their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, was born on December 28, 2024. The couple's reunion and new parenthood played out on 'Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up,' which premiered that June, while Urker worked as a bartender in the years he and Blanchard rebuilt their relationship away from the cameras.
Blanchard said her brother and his wife found Urker at home after she had sent him a birthday text that went unanswered. "Ken was an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved," she said in a statement to People. "He will forever be my soulmate and my red string, a connection that time, distance, and even death can never erase."
What remains of Urker's public story is smaller and more specific than the headlines it produced: a daughter not yet two years old, and a partner who, after nearly a decade of letters, visits, a broken engagement and a reunion, chose in the end to describe him first as her child's father.

You can Clearly tell who wrote this obituary. The whole thing is about his relationship with Gypocrite, but nothing about just him. Of course the little possum has to plug herself into wherever she can! Smfh! Nonetheless RIP Kenan. You didn't deserve what happened to you. Praying for your justice.

I remember working with Ken when he lived in Seattle. He was so sweet but really naive. I remember him taking a lot of trips and then one day he said he'd been seeing someone, but he never would tell anyone at work who it was. We all just knew that it was someone out of state, hence the multitude of trips. A few weeks later the story broke in People magazine. And we all understood why he hadn't given us a name. I thought it was an odd choice, as I had seen everything that was out in the public about Gypsy. But you never know who you are going to meet and if it worked it worked. I always kept tabs on Ken but he was pretty private. the only time I could ever glean anything was when it was in the press. I had been thinking a lot about Ken over the past week or so and I guess now I know why!! You were a beautiful fun amazing soul Ken. And you have friends all over the country who will miss you dearly!
So Sad!!!
Did she write this? It鈥檚 all about her and hardly anything about Ken and HIS LIFE.
