

Joan Alice Fabrizio
Joan Fabrizio, born on May 29, 1943, in Utica, New York, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, in her hometown of Utica at the age of 82.
Joan was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family above all else. She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Beth Roe and Linda Furman; two grandchildren, Randy Schmidt, Amanda Rizzo, and Jennifer Palmer; and an incredible legacy of 14 great-grandchildren. Joan also leaves behind her sister Vivian Malick. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Fabrizio; her grandson Randy Schmidt; and her sisters Linda Almond and her mother Vivian Johnson.
Family was the cornerstone of Joan’s life. She found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating countless cherished memories with them. Whether it was sharing stories or simply enjoying their company, these moments were the highlight of her days.
Joan had a love for simple pleasures that brought comfort and happiness to her life. She enjoyed watching classic television shows such as *The Waltons*, *Golden Girls*, and *Little House on the Prairie*. Her musical tastes spanned decades, with Elvis Presley and Kenny Chesney holding special places in her heart. Joan also had a fondness for shopping on QVC, delighting in finding treasures to share with those she loved.
Her warmth and devotion will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Joan’s memory will live on through the love she shared with her family and the joy she brought into their lives.
