

Jo Brant
JoAnn DeGlopper (Brant), age 64, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on December 26, 2025. Born on August 9, 1961, JoAnn lived a life rooted in family, kindness, and genuine care for others.
JoAnn’s greatest joy was her family, who meant everything to her. She devoted her life to raising her children, who were always her top priority and the center of her world. She was a loving and devoted mother to her daughter, Jennifer Kligman, and her son, Brandon DeGlopper. JoAnn was also a proud and cherished grandmother to Saleece and Adalynne Kligman, who brought her endless joy and filled her heart with love.
She found peace and comfort in nature, especially in Grand Haven, Michigan—a place that held a special meaning for her and where many treasured memories were made. JoAnn also loved reading and was an avid fan of James Patterson, often finding comfort and escape within the pages of his books.
Known for her selfless and compassionate nature, JoAnn consistently put others before herself and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Her kindness, warmth, and loving spirit touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Edith and John Brant; her brother, Keith Hefner; and her sister, Nancy Meyers.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Kligman (Tony Mazzarelli); her son, Brandon DeGlopper; her granddaughters, Saleece and Adalynne Kligman; and her former husband, Bill DeGlopper.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in JoAnn’s honor to the Mental Health Foundation of Michigan.
A celebration of JoAnn’s life will be held on Sunday, March 1, from 4pm until 7pm at 5th Street Hall.
