Janet May Stuart
Janet May Stuart, age 72, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, October 7th, 2021. She passed away at her home in Ormond Beach, Florida in the presence of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father John Marshall Stuart, mother Tove Andersen Stuart, and brother Johnny Stuart, and is survived by her daughter Lindsay Kyle Willingham, son David Stuart Willingham, sister-in-law Beatrice
(BeBe) Holmes Daniel, sister-in-law Anita Hewitt, and niece Kristin Hewitt Vega, and great-niece Natalie Vega. Janet was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 28, 1949 and grew up in the Panama Canal Zone. She graduated from Balboa High School, Panama Canal Zone, class of 1967. After graduation, she moved to El Paso Texas and then to Jacksonville, Florida, where she met her husband Dwayne
Willingham (passed away in 2017). They moved to Fort Payne, Alabama in the early 1970's. Dwayne and Janet had two beautiful children, Lindsay Kyle Willingham and David Stuart Willingham. Janet attended the nursing school at Northeast Alabama Junior College, Rainsville, Alabama, where she received her Registered Nursing degree. She passed the Alabama Nursing School Boards and received her license through the Alabama Board of Nursing. She worked for a nursing home, and then worked for a home health agency. She moved to Ormond Beach, Florida, and worked as Assistant Director of Nursing for the Health Center of Daytona (renamed Solaris). Janet had a green thumb and she loved raising orchids and various tropical flowering plants. She also loved her koi pond. Janet had numerous friends from the Panama Canal Zone, from Alabama, from Florida, and had an extended family in New York. She was loved by many. Arrangements were made by Cardwell, Baggett & Summers Funeral Home, South Daytona, Florida.
