

Hugh Stanley Clark
Hugh Stanley Clark, 78, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026. A graduate of New Bedford High School, he enlisted into the US Navy in 1969. While in the Navy, Stan met his beautiful wife Nauframia, sharing nearly 50 years of marriage. Stan retired from the United States Navy after 21 years of service as a Chief Petty Officer. He also worked at Kaman Corporation before retiring. He enjoyed telling stories, reading books, rocking out on the drums, and listening to jazz music.
Hugh was born on October 31, 1947, in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Stan is survived by his wife Nauframia Clark, his son Matthew Clark and daughter Delia Bell, and three grandchildren Peyton Bell, Roselynn Bell, and Axton Clark. Stan is also survived by his siblings Charlene Clark-Salley, Kyle Perez, John Clark, David Clark, and Ann Lipsett. Stan is preceded by his parents Hugh Stanley Clark, Sr. and Elizabeth R. "Betty" Gracia and two siblings Michael Clark and Deidre Clark. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved and cared for dearly.
Hull Technician Chief Petty Officer Hugh Clark, U.S. Navy (Ret.) was most proud of his Naval career, completing bootcamp, station on 7 warships, and station on 3 shore facilities. He has 8 awards, Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal as his highest award. He was also awarded the Vietnam Service Medal and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal for serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He served proudly around the world before finally retiring in San Diego, CA in 1990.
Family and friends are invited to his funeral on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 9:30 am. The ceremony will be held at Miramar National Cemetery. The reception will follow at The Celebration of Life reception will follow at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, 1 Park Blvd, San Diego CA at 11:00.
A memorial service will also be scheduled for those who can attend in New Bedford, MA on Saturday, March 7th, 11:00 am at Union Baptist Church, 109 Court St. New Bedford, Ma with the repast to follow in the church function hall.
