It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Esker Roland Mayberry, who was born on July 30, 1962. Esker peacefully left this world on December 26, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Esker and my sister Linda were high school sweethearts. Our families were close since the 70s. He was a great man! Very dedicated to his job and family. I bought my horse from him; Esker was excellent with animals and loved to ride. It breaks my heart that he is no longer with us. But the Lord has promised we will all be together again.
What a tragic loss. I served with Esker in the USBP. Prayers for his family during this most difficult loss. May God pour his healing upon your lives and comfort you as only he can. Bill Womack USBP RETIRED
**Dippity Dipps** One time on a girls youth hike as all of us sat around a camp fire in the rain cackling and laughing uncontrollably, under a tarp that Esker and Clay had stretch overhead. I can rember Esker off to the side visiting with Clay, feeding the horses, collecting wood for the fire, teaching the newbies how build a fire, unloading water and supplies. He made many jokes, poked fun at our goofy games, but most of all he worked hard to keep everyone safe, dry and warm. He did the work behind the scenes so that we could laugh around that camp fire with no worries at all...
There are angels that God puts in our lives and Esker is just that, an angel. He has been a long time friend. I have experienced his leadership, love, laughter, grit and grace on many occasions. I always knew that whatever situation we ended up in, that Esker would have my back, no matter the weather, no matter the mess, Esker would keep all of the kiddos safe! And... make the trip fun. If you haven't seen Esker repel down a 200ft cliffside face first, with his spurs on, please ask some of the local girls if they remember, it will make them smile. Where he really touched my heart, is more tender than words can express. I have a son who is a very old soul. He doesn't make friends easily, nor does he care to. He'd rather meet God in the mountains that in a church pew. I'll make it short and just say that my boy has 2 true friends, and Esker is one of them. Esker saved my boy when he needed saving. There's not a way for my Mama heart to ever put that into words, but Esker knows. He knows how much he meant to both of us and why. What a mountain of man Esker was. I cannot image the void that this will leave on his family. I am praying for you all. Thank you for sharing him with all of us who were lucky enough to have him our lives. -Until we meet again!

**Thank you Esker!** Aug 1984 I transferred from UofA to Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona. Guess who "coincidentally" ended up in both of my Chemistry lab and lecture classes with me? My cousin, Esker Mayberry! He was attending PCC on a track and field/cross country running scholarship. That guy could run! I had a really hard time grasping Chemistry concepts and would not have passed those two classes without Esker's help. He was a patient tutor who actually made Chemistry fun! I sincerely believe that what I originally thought was a "coincidence" ended up being divine intervention! Thanks for your help, Esker! Your cousin, Michelle (Mayberry) Cooley

Esker was my friend, we attended the Border Patrol Academy together, and were stationed in Brownsville, Texas together. After all the dangerous situations we faced working the border, I just can't get my head around this act of senseless violence. It's tragically ironic, I'm very sad for Esker's family.
