Elizabeth Ellen Ray (Betty Ellen), passed away February 20, 2026 following her battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 85 years old.

Born in Hanoverton, Ohio, September 4, 1940 she was the daughter of Daniel and Anna Furey of Hanoverton. Betty graduated from Augusta in 1958 where she then went to Beauty School and was still doing hair up until she got sick in December.

She will be remembered for her baking of cookies, crafting, her long time of being on a bowling league, and being a member of St. Philip Neri catholic church and in her earlier years of being a competitive roller skating dancer.

She is preceded in death by her parents Anna (Labenz) Furey, Daniel Furey, her sister Mary Ann Furey, her grandson Shane Ray, and her late beloved Stephen Gray.

She is survived by her sons Robert (Meg) Ray of Bushnell, Florida. Joseph (Vickie) Ray of Hanoverton, Ohio. Her daughter Tamara Richards. Her grandkids Brittany(Shawn), Heather(Ryan), Joseph JR., Tahnee, Brandon, Mandi(Jason), Cory(Brooke), Brynn(Isaac), and Brooke(Brandon). Her 11 great grandkids.

Celebration of her life will be on March 28, 2026 at 1PM to 3PM at Forest Lanes in Kensington, Ohio.
