**One In a Million** Ed, you were never better than when you were in the Sierra sober backpacking. You were invariably thoughtful, smart, funny. The real you. But honestly, just as fun were nights around the campfire in Joshua Tree, playing guitar and Djembe til morning, drinking homemade Rusty Nails with Grey Goose and grapefruit juice squeezed from the grapefruits in the back yard. Just as fun were hours listening to music in the car as loud as the speakers could take it, or recording music til dawn in the makeshift studio in the garage, or barbecuing on the balcony, smoking and drinking pitchers of sangria that was loaded with fruit you had cut and soaked in brandy days earlier. It didn't matter really because even at your worst, somehow the real you would always shine through. I'm convinced that's because you were one in a million, one in millions. I hate it that you're gone but am so thankful for my memories, which never will be.

The life of the party
Eddie’s beautiful journey began in Michigan before his family settled in Brea, California, when he was just five years old. Alongside his parents, Ed and Betty Schultz, his sisters Teri and Debra, and his brother and lifelong best friend, Rich, Eddie created a life defined by deep connections and vibrant joy. In Brea, he lived with an open heart, gathering a lifetime of cherished friendships that he carried with him always.
Music was the heartbeat of Eddie’s soul. A gifted drummer who moved to the rhythm of rock n roll, he spent years happily keeping the beat for many bands, sharing his talent and energy with everyone who listened. His spirit was equally legendary when it came to his passion for the Pittsburgh Steelers; a true football savant, he brought an incredible light to every game day. Eddie also found a special kind of happiness in his 1950 Chevy truck, taking great pride in his hot rod and the community he found at car shows. Whether he was casting a line as an avid fisherman or simply resting on the water, Eddie was always smiling, forever dreaming of the boat he hoped to one day call his own.
A celebration of Eddie’s life and the love he shared will be held on February 21st at the Anaheim Hills Golf Club.
