McCune won his inaugural PBA Tour title at the Fort Worth Open and also secured a Classic Team title at the USBC Open Championships.
He won the Classic Doubles title at the USBC Open Championships with Jim Stefanich.
McCune revolutionized bowling ball technology by soaking his balls, winning six PBA titles and earning PBA Player of the Year honors.
His significant contributions to the sport were recognized with his induction into the PBA Hall of Fame (Veterans Category).
McCune was inducted into the USBC Hall of Fame (Performance Category), further cementing his legendary status.
Donald Eugene McCune passed away at the age of 89.
