Dolores Keane was born into a musical family and raised by her aunts, renowned sean-nós singers Rita and Sarah Keane.
At the tender age of five, Keane made her first recording, showcasing her early talent.
Keane became a founding member of the traditional Irish band De Dannan, releasing their debut album and gaining international recognition.
Her debut solo album, 'There Was a Maid,' was released and achieved gold disc status.
Her rendition of 'Caledonia' became one of her most famous recordings, later featured on the bestselling 'A Woman's Heart' compilation.
Honored for her significant contributions to Irish music and culture.
Received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the TG4 Gradam Ceoil awards for Irish traditional music.
Received an honorary doctorate in Music (DMus) from the University of Galway.
Dolores Keane passed away peacefully at her home.
