Along the Trail of Life
Candace Louise Hilderbrand ("Candy")
March 9, 1963 – July 25, 2026
Candy, 63, of Newnan, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026. Born Candace Louise Hilderbrand on March 9, 1963, she was legally known simply as Candy—a testament to her unique, independent spirit.
Candy was a woman of vibrant talent, strong determination, and a deep passion for life. She found immense joy in the outdoors, especially when riding and breaking horses, and expressed her creativity through her painting. Throughout her life, Candy took on many jobs, but none brought her more pride or held more meaning than building cabinets alongside her father at Hilderbrand Cabinets and Top Shop.
She is survived by her loving mother, Hazel Hilderbrand; her partner, Steve Everitt; her brothers, Tim Hilderbrand and Monroe Hilderbrand Jr.; her daughters, Tiffany Kinard and Nina Shephard; and her cherished grandchildren, Damian Harris, Aries Harris, Tinley Shephard, and Oakley Shephard.
In keeping with Candy’s wishes, no formal memorial service will be held, as she would not want loved ones gathering in grief. Instead, family and friends are warmly encouraged to hold their own personal celebration of life in her honor—sharing stories, remembering good times, and celebrating her life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local horse rescue organization in Candy’s honor.
Those who wish to honor Candy's memory are invited to .
