In 1984, Bob Power got his big break when the owner of Calliope Studios in New York asked him to fill in as an engineer. He ended up in a session with hip-hop band Stetsasonic, who were so impressed with his work they asked him to stay on as they crafted their debut album On Fire, launching his career in hip-hop production.
