Following his baseball career, Tony Balsamo transitioned into entrepreneurship. He owned and operated Donato's Restaurant of Rockville Centre for 25 years, from 1977 until his retirement in 2002. This venture allowed him to continue connecting with people and serving his community in a different capacity.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Balsamo was a devoted family man. He married his beloved wife, Linda, in 1962, and together they raised two sons, Donato and Michael, in Howard Beach. He cherished spending time with his family and friends, indulging in golf, and sharing his love for sports through engaging storytelling. He is also survived by his grandson, Anthony, and his pets, Lady and Elle.
