Matthew J Crabtree, 57, of Westfield, passed away on June 11, 2026. He was born on March 19, 1969, in Hartford Michigan.

Matt will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was known for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and appreciation for life's simple pleasures.

Matt enjoyed a successful and dedicated career in landscape design and maintenance. He worked for many years at Sundown Gardens in Carmel, Indiana, where his knowledge, talent, and commitment earned the respect of colleagues and customers alike.

A devoted sports fan, Matt especially loved cheering for Michigan State Spartans men's basketball team. He also enjoyed spending occasional time on the golf course, bowling with friends, and listening to the music he loved from the 1980s. His passion for music, sports, and the outdoors reflected the enthusiasm and joy he brought to everyday life.

Matt is survived by his son, Matthew C. Crabtree; his father, Jean Crabtree; his brothers, Steven Crabtree and David Crabtree; and his sister Judy Crabtree. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ann Birdwell. His cat Samantha, and Precious, the dog he and his son love

Matt's memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his love of nature, his sense of humor, and the lasting impact he made on those around him.
