Kenneth Arthur Boyens
Kenneth Arthur Boyens, 82, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026. Born on January 27, 1944, Ken lived a memorable life marked by hard work, friendship, family, and a passion for life's simple pleasures.
Ken spent much of his life in Illinois and also lived in Massachusetts, Maine, and Florida. He attended Morgan Park High School and later pursued educational opportunities in Carbondale, Illinois, and Huntsville, Alabama, graduating from Athens State University. Throughout his career, he worked as a traveling salesman.
Ken was known for his love of trains, golf, bowling, and spending time with friends. He was a proud member of the Dog House Club in Evergreen Park, where his humor, stories, and camaraderie were appreciated by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Heniff Winski, who passed away in 2022, and by his parents, Arthur and Velma Boyens.
Ken is survived by his wife, Shirly Boyens; his nieces Melissa and Rebecca (Becky) Heniff; his stepsons Joseph (Jay) and Toby Stahmer; his great-nephews Colin and Liam Kruse and Arthur and James Heniff; and his great-stepchildren, Joseph, Matthew, Cody and Austin Stahmer and Madison Russo. He also leaves behind his beloved birds, which brought him much joy and companionship.
A Memorial Service will be held at Bethany Union Church of Chicago at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of his life.
